Year 6

WELCOME TO YEAR 6

 

Mrs Farnsworth and Mrs Keightley welcome you to Year 6.

 

HOMEWORK

We have homework for KS2 to embed learning in the following areas:

  • reading
  • spellings
  • tables

To begin with, homework will be a mixture of: TT Rockstars, Spelling Shed and Read Theory. Spellings and Tables will be given out weekly and the test will be on a Friday.

We ask for reading books to be in school every day. Please could parents encourage your child to complete at least 10 minutes reading each night.

PE KITS

We have weekly PE sessions. Please come to school in your PE kit on your day. PE is on Friday

 

SCIENCE

Mrs Wildeman will be taking year 6 to teach them Science.

 

REWARDS

In school, the children are placed into ‘houses’. These are:

  • Pendle
  • Hambledon
  • Coppice
  • Bowland

Children will regularly be given points in class to reinforce good behaviour.  We also have raffle tickets, which children receive for good behaviour / work / attitude.  Each week there is a small treat for the winning team and the star winner too!
