WELCOME TO YEAR 4

Mrs Turner and Mrs Bradshaw welcome you to year 4.

HOMEWORK

We have homework for KS2 to embed learning in the following areas; reading, spellings and tables.

Weekly spellings to learn are given out on Tuesday and the test is given on Friday. We will also share the spellings via seesaw. The children can practice the spellings via the ‘Spelling shed’  app for which your child has an individual login.

We also encourage the use of the ‘TT Rockstars’ app which allows your child to learn times tables in a fun way, again your child has an individual login for this.

If you are experiencing any problems using any of these apps do not hesitate to contact us and we will help you out. For those children without access to a tablet, phone or computer we provide extra opportunities during the normal school day.

Spellings and Tables will be given out weekly and the test will be on Friday afternoon.

We ask for reading books to be in school every day. Please could parents sign daily to say your child has done at least 10 minutes reading a night?

PE KITS

We have weekly PE sessions. Please come to school in your PE kit on your day. 

PE days is Tuesday

REWARDS

In our class, the children are placed into 4 colour teams.

Children will be regularly given team points in class to reinforce good behaviour.

The team with the most points on a Friday will be given a small reward. The children will also receive bookmark stickers for demonstrating good listening, helpfulness, readiness to learn and kindness. A completed bookmark will be rewarded by the children choosing a prize from Mr. Martin's box in our Friday celebration assembly. 

We believe in working in partnership with parents is the best way for your child to feel safe and happy at school. No issue is too small so do not hesitate to contact us. However please remember that the end of the school day is very busy so if you need to talk to staff for a length of time please make an appointment.
