Welcome to Moor End Community Primary School!
Nestled in the heart of the Oswaldtwistle community, we are a vibrant one-form entry primary school dedicated to nurturing young minds. Our facilities include a preschool for three-year-olds, offering up to 30 hours of weekly care, along with a dedicated special educational needs unit.
Our classrooms are spacious and bright, designed to create an inspiring learning environment. We boast a purpose-built school library, tranquil internal gardens (our quad areas), extensive outdoor playgrounds, and a large playing field for outdoor activities.
We are proud to host community groups, including the Accrington Allstars Junior Football Club and the Hyndburn Netball Club, fostering strong community ties.
Our Headteacher, Mr. Phil Sumner, has been a vital part of Moor End for over 12 years and took on the role of Headteacher in January 2023. Each class benefits from a minimum of two adults: an experienced class teacher and a member of our support staff. Laura Ridehalgh serves as our Designated Safeguarding Lead and full-time Learning Mentor, providing both individual and group support to our pupils and assistance to families in need. We pride ourselves on being accessible and supportive to our entire school community, embodying the true spirit of a 'Community' school.
The best way to experience what Moor End has to offer is to visit us in person. Mr. Sumner loves to give families a personal tour, so please call the office to arrange an appointment.
Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook to keep up with all the exciting activities and achievements of our pupils!
