A WARM WELCOME TO PRESCHOOL!

At Moor End Preschool, we pride ourselves in creating an inviting, enabling and nurturing environment; where children feel safe, happy and inspired to learn. At Moor End, every pupil is valued and we emphasise the importance that every child’s voice matters, their uniqueness is embraced and their individuality is celebrated. We are very much a part of the Moor End family; at the heart of the community. Many children who attend preschool join our school family from an even younger age; attending our weekly play group on Thursday mornings with their families.

With a positive and encouraging approach, our preschool children settle into Moor End with an understanding of our routines and expectations, providing them with a solid foundation in preparation for their school journey.

In our Early Years unit, we hope for our children to be independent learners who are curious, confident, creative and resilient. We achieve this through continually developing a bespoke, research-informed curriculum which we adapt and evolve to meet the needs of each individual cohort.

We have three main intakes within each school year; September (Autumn Term), January (Spring Term) and April (Summer Term); at times, we can offer some flexibility in start dates. Children can begin their Preschool journey the term after they turn three years old.

At Moor End, we offer term time, funded and/or paid places and are flexible in how you wish to use your hours. A standard 30 hours place consists of five full school days (Mon – Fri, 8.45am – 3.20pm). However, if you wish to attend less than five days, you are able to use some allocated funding in our breakfast or after school clubs. We offer morning sessions or full days and try to be accommodating to meet your child care needs.

Places are becoming increasingly popular at Moor End Preschool, so if you wish for your child to have the opportunity to attend our Preschool where the children are at the centre of everything we do, it's never too early to put their name down. If you wish to come and see our fabulous preschool and decide if it’s the right setting for your child, please arrange a visit with either Mrs Booth our Preschool Teacher or Mr Sumner our Headteacher. We are always happy and proud to show families around, answer any questions you may have and we look forward to welcoming you to our school family.

CLASS INFORMATION

We have our PE lesson on a Friday – please ensure your child has black pumps in a bag in school.

Wellies: Please can your child bring a pair of wellies that we can keep in school. We play out in all weathers and our outside area can get muddy.

IMPORTANT: We ask that all items of uniform and footwear are named please to ensure they are always returned to you.

PRESCHOOL OPENING TIMES

Our nursery day starts at 8:45am when either Mrs Booth or Miss Hartley will greet the children.

The children come into the school via the Foundation Unit (off Bright Street).

As we offer a range of hours, the finishing time is either at 11:45am or 3:20pm ,depending on how you wish to arrange your child care. Children will be released to a parent or known contact (must be listed on the child's contact sheet and provide a given password).
